World-Renowned PGD Researcher Educates Physicians & Healthcare Professionals About Preventing Birth Defects & Infant Mortality At March of Dimes Conference

WHAT: World-renowned fertility expert and leader in reproductive medicine Dr. Lawrence Werlin will be the featured speaker at the 5th Annual March of Dimes Conference. This year’s theme, “Preventing Birth Defects & Infant Mortality — Prematurity: Minimizing Risk & Maximizing Outcome,” will educate health care providers on the most common causes of perinatal mortality and birth defects.

Werlin’s presentation, “Artificial Reproduction Therapy: Risk of Birth Defects,” will explore new developments in reproductive medicine that will aid healthcare providers in the prevention and early detection of birth defects including the use of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

WHY: March of Dimes and the Community Perinatal Network have partnered to focus on these critical issues at this year’s conference due to the increasing problem of premature births in the United States, and the impact this trend is having on the overall health of children.
